Broiled bean curd in banana leaf

This is a plaintive request for a recipe. I love this dish at Bali Nusa Indah on Ninth Ave, and want to recreate it at home. I tried begging for the recipe without luck, although we did discuss ingredients which include cayenne, tomato, red pepper, tamarind, ginger and scallions. My server said that it was very hard to make with the reductions and all, and that I shouldn't cook it, just come eat it there. Chuckles all around. Still, I would love to be able to make this (called "Pepes Tahu" on the menu, sort of means 'pepper tofu'). It is comfort food that will take off the top of your head. I've tried searching online without luck and am hurling myself at your collective feet. Anybody?
