We had to wing it on finding a fried clam place on our trip to "East Bay". I *think* the place was called Quito's, a little joint right on the water with indoor and outdoor seating plus a park next to it for take out. We split a clam plate ($14.95), a large amount of clams, run of the mill fries and good cole slaw. The batter was great and the clams were decent altho they lacked that sweetness and needed salt. After walking around a bit, we went to J.G. Hooks to try clam cakes which we assumed were like crabcakes with clams. These were fried dough balls with one tiny bit of clam in each I think. They seemed like a deal on the menu ($4.25 for 6/5.95 for 12) but it was all bread and we just ate 2 of them. I should have gotten an ice cream cone at one of the many places instead. J.G. Hooks is the bar that all walks of life hang out at I think. There were some other places that looked interesting, definitely worth another drive some time when the sun is out.
