I've seen a few past threads that weren't too clear on this, as is the online regulations that ban importing "meat".
We travel to Holland every other year and this year we have been requested to cook up a batch of red beans and rice for friends there. I don't think we will have any problems bringing in the dried Camillia brand red beans but would like to bring our preferred brand of smoked sausage. We have made gumbo while in Holland but have problems with getting the right sausage among the butcher shops in Alkmaar. So we'd like to bring our own.
I'm hoping as a smoked, and not raw sausage, it will be acceptable.
Can anyone give some guidance?
I'll be glad to return the favor as you can find me at New Orleans CH.
