For weeks... no MONTHS I've gone to the bakery section of Capers on Robson hoping that they would have their strawberry dacquoise but alas, no luck. For those who haven't experienced this transcendent dessert imagine this: fluffy whipped cream and juicy strawberries sandwiched between two discs of a chewy, crispy almond meringue coated with dark chocolate (only on the inside, to prevent it from going soggy).
Hmm my description doesn't do it justice. Anyway, everytime I go there, the tell me, sorry, we don't have it right now, not sure when we might bring it back. Argh... how do I get my dacquoise fix? Anyone have a recipe? Bring it back Capers!
