Brew N Que in Apex (and Cary)

My brother was in town on business in Apex so I met up with him for lunch at Brew N Que. This is one of two brick-and-mortar joints started by the BBQ food truck owner Big Mike's BBQ-- the other one is in Cary. I remember trying Big Mike at Fullsteam a couple of years ago and liking his BBQ so I wanted to give his restaurant a try. I was not disappointed. The chopped pork had the right texture, not overly chopped and mushy like a lot of NC BBQ joints. The brisket was lean and thus not as moist s the best brisket I've had but still not dry and rubbery like at some places. I tried one of my brother's smoked, dry rubbed wings. I'm guessing they finish them with a flash fry to crisp up the skin. Delicious! Their sides are great with interesting twists: I had the smoke potato salad, blue cheese cole slaw, and corn pudding. All terrific! They offer an interesting beer selection, more flavored beers than I prefer, but a wide selection to choose from.
