Restaurants & Bars 2

After waiting for months and months Brent’s finally opened in Westlake Village yesterday.

Working in Westlake Village and living in Thousand Oaks this is quite an event for me!

Not being able to wait any longer, a group of us (6) went today for lunch with high hopes that it is as good as the Northridge location (maybe better?).

We arrived at 11:55 AM and were told it would be about a 20 minute wait. Good thing we arrived before 12, right after we came in the people started pouring in and the wait time went up quickly. While it was crowded it wasn’t terrible. It’s not like in Northridge, much more waiting room. There was some hassle getting around those who were waiting for the people trying to put in their names, but hey, it’s Brent’s!!!

We were seated in almost exactly 20 minutes! Either perfect timing or a bit of luck. The waitress appeared quickly for our drink order.

The interior is all new (nothing like Paul’s or Red’s) and very nicely decorated. The bar is at the far end (freeway side) and there are tables on both sides of the main room. There is a counter but it is very small.

The best thing here is that there is no chaos as there is in Northridge. It’s a 1000 times quieter, softer, and much more comfortable. If I had a choice of the two, regardless of distance, Westlake is it for me.

The food did take a while, but not an unacceptably long. The waitress came up at one point to tell us our food would be coming soon. The bus boy was great, kept coming around filling iced tea and water glasses and asking if anyone wanted more coke or anything else to drink. He was right there with boxes for left-overs and cleared the plates quickly as each person finished.

Now, for the reason we were all there! I’m very pleased to say that the food was absolutely as good as the original location. We got a large assortment of items and every one was more than pleased. Only one other person knew of Brent’s so it was quite a pleasant surprise for everyone else. Everything was fresh and tasty. We had an order each of the skinny and large fries, and they were great. Pastrami and Corned beef as good as I remember in Northridge.

It was suggested, and accepted, that we’ll do the 1st Friday of each month there. I guess I’ll be dieting for 30 days each month!!

I’m going back for breakfast Sunday! Anyone else who goes please post your experience! They are open from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm daily.
