A big Thanks to David Kahn, who responded to my post about finding a place to have breakfast near Campanile.
I had two co workers join me on Friday at Toast before a work related seminar. When we arrived at about 7:45 am the restaurant had one customer seated. By the time we left at 8:30 am the place was almost full.
We were greeted warmly and had our choice of tables. The wonderful server brought us coffee right away. The beverage service throughout breakfast was excellent. We never had to flag down a busboy for coffee or water refills. Our cups and glasses were kept full.
The menu was filled with breakfast staples - pancakes, french toast, various egg dishes. My friends ordered the croissant sandwich and the sourdough breakfast sandwich, both of which were
excellent and served with crunchy golden brown home fries. I had the eggs benedict and orange juice. For the price, the small orange juice was a great bargain. Bigger glass than I expected, fresh squeezed and delicious.
The eggs benedict were incredible. Served piping hot, with perfectly poached eggs and delicious freshly made hollandaise, I would highly recommmed this dish.
Service was prompt and professional. We were in and out in 45 minutes. We took out time finishing our coffee. Three of us for breakfast - $37.50
I would definitely return -perhaps next week!
