I was shocked as I entered One Eyed Betty's. Bench type siting and lots of wooden chairs. The boths looked out of place a long the wall. The openess of the place was not suited for a Sunday morning breakfast.
The host yelled out, " You can sit anywhere you what!" A smile across my face, as I glaced around preferred both seating was taken. I did find one towards the back. The forgotten section, the land of the lost or you took an entire both for one person...:-).
Immediately, my server was at my table handing me a menu with morning suggestions. Coffee and water first my dear, within a blink of an eye. She was back with my coffee and water. I took her suggestion of the Monte Cristo Sandwish. She took my order and left.
I sat there waiting for a refill of coffee and water for 15 mins. My food arrived with the waitress' thumb print on my plate. Early, I watched one waitress deliver a plate to a young child across the room - - thumb on the plate and as she walked back she slide the tips of her fingers across one of the bench tables.
The Monte Cristo Sandwich was disappointing - - not like Club Bart (RIP). It was about an inch thick with an egg between the French Toast. Opps, did I fail to mention? I had asked the server, " Are there eggs on the sandwich." In her sweet voice, "No."
The potatoes were cooked but seemed dry in taste. The coffee, OMG had a bitter taste.
I am believer in giving a second chance, but not a third. So, one more breakfast and a dinner.
