Needing an infusion of calories after a morning fasting blood test, I stopped at Niko's Cafe, but they were not open at 9am as advertised, so I went a bit west to the curiously named J.A.M.S.S., who open at 6:30 for earlybirds.
Greeted with a plate complimentary apricot pastriettes as I came in the door by a friendly waiter, there appeared to be a lively discussion going on between the patrons at the bar and the chef, so I opted for a table. There is seating for about 25+, all places preset with large coffee mugs. The place was moderately busy and many came in for a pre-ordered takeout while I was there.
They didn't make a fuss when I mixed-and-matched with their menu, and the resulting food was as good as any diner fare I have encountered. The corned beef hash was home-made and complimented the eggs and fruit plate that came with it. The prices were maybe above average for diner fare, but the serving size was substantial. As I left, I asked what they would recommend for lunch from their menu and the cashier plumped for their signature burgers, and I think she also mentioned quesadillas. I'll have to check that out. I purposely did not ask what J.A.M.S.S. stood for, I think I would rather use my imagination.
