Here's the best breakfast on North Shore

For anyone looking for a good breakfast in the Marblehead/Swampscott/Salem/Lynn area, check out Mildred's on Lewis Street, Lynn (across from Michael's Bakery). Little corner place with about seven tables. Old movies are showing on TVs placed in the four corners of this quirky little place. Mildred (aka Jan) is always there. The menu is more ambitious than most for breakfast. I'm partial to the huge wild mushroom omelet with a side of sauteed tomatoes instead of home fries. They also offer Eggs Benedict daily. Decor is really thoughtful: there's a rack of hot sauces for seasoning and several "coffees on tap." On weekends there can be a line to get in, but during the week it's very quiet. Can't figure out why. It's the best breakfast around.
