More on Breakfast at Mike & Rhonda's Restaurant "The Place"

Jamie and I like to go out to breakfast on Sunday mornings, and after reading the recent discussion of Mike & Rhonda's Restaurant, The Place, we tried it last Sunday. At about 9:00 there were quite a few people in line, but we only waited about 15 minutes for a table. This turned out to be probably the best coffee shop breakfast we've had locally -- especially with reference to the bacon, which was thick and slightly sweet, and the biscuits, which were tall and quite acceptable. (I'm a harsh critic of biscuits, having been raised in Arkansas, so these weren't quite up to those standards, but way decent for the West.) The Polish sausage that I had with my eggs was on the scrawny side, not to mention awfully salty, but no problem, next time I'll get the bacon instead.

In response to the comments about problems with the service, you probably get the best service when the restaurant is busy. Once we were seated the waiter took our order quickly and the food arrived in about five minutes. We will definitely return.

It's at 4925 West Bell Road -- Glendale? Phoenix? Peoria?
