Breakfast Lunch Dinner Drinks in Morro Bay for a birthday weekend in Morro Bay? Anything new? Also it's gonna rain! So nice pubs, etc to hang out in?

Heya-I have been checking the Morro Bay listings and they are all over 5 years old and I keep coming up with restaurants that are closed! We like to eat EVERYTHING, but I especially like seafood. (I'm a Californian now, but I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay) We have a rez for the Galley for Friday night special birthday dinner (Is that a good idea?) and need recommendations for breakfast, lunch, dinner on Saturday. I have read that Bayside is good, and I was thinking of Giovanni's Fish restaurant for lunch but it might be raining! Any good pubs, etc for a rainy day ? Thanks so much, Y'all have taken us around the world, we always appreciate chowhounders!

It is not what you are looking for, but we stumbled into The Hofbrau, ordered at the crowded counter and had one of the best roast beef sandwiches ever. It is right on the ocean. 

Oh, what I would give right now for a rainy kick-back weekend in Morrow Bay... We go up and down the coast a couple of times a year and have been dissappointed with the fish offerings in Morrow Bay. We can do so much better in our own kitchen at home. That’s probably just us. We love the place for the ocean itself and don’t need much else.

Bayside is fun just for the location if nothing else. Food tends to be quite good. Taco Temple has held up since the the Owners sold it to the Employees. I'd probably try Tognazzini's Dockside over Giovanni. It's indoors and I think they do a better job. I do like Giovanni for buying seafood though. Consider going across the bay to Los Osos and try Celia's Garden Cafe as well. It's not seafood, but Brickhouse BBQ does a nice job for a casual bite as well.

FYI- this weekend is the Cayucos Sea Glass Festival a fun way to spend the afternoon checking out great jewelry and what not- Cayucos also has the best smoked fish tacos at Ruddell's Smoke Shop!

I am a huge fan of Giovannis in Morro Bay. I always order the same thing- halibut burger and a couple of oysters with a tap 805- doesn't that sound delicious! The Bayside is great too.

Have a wonderful visit- please do drop into FOREVER STOKED, a fantastic artist den, chock full of surreal surf scenes and beyond.....groovy stuff!
