Breakfast at Desiree--thank you, Chowhound!

AppleSister | Aug 11, 200403:23 PM     3

Thank you, Chowhound, for helping us figure out how to get to Cafe Desiree in the Presidio! After a brisk run in the fog this morning, my friend and I found Desiree after only one mis-turn and had a wonderful breakfast. She had the farmers' market special--eggs scrambled with parmesan, corn and tomato, and potatoes and toast. I had the egg, parmesan and swiss chard sandwich on buttery toasted bread, and we shared a big wedge of strawberry coffee cake. Everything was fresh and perfect as expected; I loved the little touches like the wedges of fig, apricot and strawberries that came with my breakfast sandwich, and the big beautiful mugs for coffee. I have yet to try the box lunches, but I can wholeheartedly recommend breakfast.
