Breakfast at Carberry's in Central Square

peelmeagraphe | Oct 3, 2005 03:24 PM

Ever on the lookout for good weekday breakfast and lunch places in Central Square, I had breakfast at Carberry's this morning. Not a happy experience. The "chocolate croissant" would be better described as a "chocolate roll" - dense and bready, not buttery-flaky as one might expect. The side of bacon and scrambled eggs wasn't made fresh to order but rather had been sitting for some time - lukewarm, with the bacon grease semi-congealed and the eggs slightly watery. The only decent aspects of the experience were the very frothy chai latte, the light-filled space and the free parking lot.
