Bread on Westside

In response to all the hoo ha about La Brea bread.
Obviously purchasing bread from a bakery is the way to go. Rustic style breads that have been around a day or have been packaged and trucked to a grocery store so get so "crusty" I find them inedible.
If you are on the Westside/Venice area try Pain du Jour on Pico just east of Lincoln. Get there in the morning for fresh baugettes, wonderful croisants, and other more rustic loaves. Crusty..but you won't break a tooth!! On fri and sat you can get Italian style bread at Massimos on Washington just east of Lincoln also (behind the Vans shoes) Really you can sneak a cookie or two...
