Bread report (in progress)

One of my pipe dreams has been to have a bread tasting party [ed. what about the allnightathon?]. I especially dream this dream when I face the dozen's of brands of bread offered daily at Caputo's. I really want to sort out the breads available for us here in Chicago. So, to help me, I am asking for suggestions, nominations, etc. For those looking to do a bit of research, the attached link has some good stuff, but is hardly the be all of bread talk on the board. I promise a report sometime in the near future.

As a teaser, I will say that right now, my two favorite breads are Fox and Obel, and believe it or not, Freddy's in Cicero. I have also been holding back for sometime, a really excellent small bakery in Elmwood Park, where a very friendly gentleman from S. Italy is producing some great breads.

In the news you can use catagory, at Freddy's if you ask for a sandwich, say a meatball or sausage, you will get it served on "outside" bread. The thing to do, is to either grab yourself a roll from their bin and make them serve the sandwhich on that, or take the filling home with a whole loaf of bread and do it yourself.
