Can I make bread pudding with leftover Pigna (Italian Easter Bread)?

I'm trying to think of ways to use up my Moms leftover Pigna. I was thinking of a bread pudding with a touch of sambucca as opposed to whiskey.But my Moms Pigna is sort of airy, dry, maybe a tad crumbly. I'm thinking it could disintegrate in a bread pudding. Do you think toasting the bread will hold this pieces together? Or does someone have another suggestions for a dessert I could make with Pigna? Thanks in advance
