And a good thing that is. I've never liked B.A.'s bread as much as the better Manhattan equivalents. But yesterday I wandered over to the Greenmarket at Union Square and the pickings were extremely slim.
I picked up a corn muffin, a currant scone, and the Lemon Poppyseed Glaze cookies. The scone was a bit stale and unexceptional. The corn muffin was terrific, not too sweet and tasted, of all things, of corn. But the standout was the Lemon Poppyseed Glaze cookies, which were buttery and sweet but sported a real lemon tang.
