a bread by any other name?

First, thanks to all those who responded to my chicken question a few months ago (finally settled on brining, butterflying, quick saute in olive oil and butter to brown skin, then roast at 450 on top of sliced onions, lemons, smashed garlic, thyme and parsley stems with plenty of white pepper and salt).
Now, a question about bread names. Is what we call squaw bread here in Los Angeles called Anadama bread back where it came into being (according to legend, anyway), New England?
