New Brazilian in Woodside

The former JC Family chilean place (on Roosevelt and 68th) is now a Brazilian buffet/grill type of thing. They just started and the BBQ is not in yet, but they have a small buffet with like half a dozen options plus 3 types of beans. I first noticed it on Friday and sampled the buffet (it was 3.50/lb) they had this really good baked shrimp pot pie kind of thing and also very good veggie casserole thing. Skirt steak type of dish was not too impressive. A lady from Brasilville place in Astoria (which I love) is cooking there.

I went back for a quick lunch takeout yesterday and noticed price bumped up to 3.75/lbs. Dishes were elaborate in making but sort of bland (still good for the price though), okra was really good though. But they had several mouth-watering desserts on display. Hope it was an off day for the cook, and hopefully bbq redeems the place. Still a nice addition to the existing take-out options in the neighborhood.
