We found a world class restaurant that was delicious and affordable. The restaurant is TJ Buckleys. It is a reconverted diner with very few tables and a beautiful open kitchen. The chef is Michael Fuller, a magician and artist with food. Watching the process of his preparation is comparable to experiencing a dance performance. My husband's fillet came with garlic mashed potatoes and stringbeans. The sauce was to die for. The cost, $30. My scallops were seared and melted in my mouth. The sauce and vegies also were delicious.
This and all other entres were $25. Reservations are a must.
The Riverview Cafe has rather good diner food with a spectacular view of the Connecticut River and the foothills of the mountains. The Whetstone brook crashes into the river and just makes the surrounding area a must experience!
