We Brake for Churros (repost)

Melanie Wong | Jun 18, 200210:27 AM

Found some very good Churros (fried mexican cruller dusted with cinnamon sugar) from a cart on the corner of 37th (?) and International in Oakland. We had headed over to Mariscos La Costas stand for some aguachile and campechana seafood cocktails and saw the line of people waiting on the corner for the
fried-to-order churros. One of the women told us that this is the best churro cart around, that this is his regular spot, but he's not always there. The sign on the cart says "Ricos Churros", and they are indeed rich, made from a yellow eggy batter. These are extruded in free-form coiled shapes, rather than straight sticks. Well worth a stop if you spot him.
