My friend and I have decided to work on our creativity and cooking skills but challenging each other to Chop-esk contest. Basically each month we choose an ingredient and try to make it better and use it in a creative way. Well this month we decided to use box mixes. So any box mix (cake, pancake, brownies, anything that is basically just liquid and maybe an egg) can be used however it can't be used for what its supposed to make. So cake mix can't be used to make cupcakes and cakes, muffin mix cant make muffins, ect. So as long as we take the box mix and make it into something better then we figure whos the winner.
So here's the problem. While I have ideas, I only use cornbread mix and thats about it, everything else I do is from scratch while she is the box mix queen. So I'm hoping for some ideas and how to pull it off.
Some of my ideas are:
Pancake mix to make Takoyaki
Bread mix to make some sort of Wellington (maybe add some herbs to the bread mix as well)
Cake mix + Melted Ice cream= Ice cream bread (Stole that one from Tasty or Tastemade)
Cake mix to make a tempura batter
Cornbread fried chicken
