This is my inaugural post...
I have spent a highly productive hour (unless you're my boss) reading through all of the threads to get all the background possible, but I still have some questions.
Two twenty-somethings Cantabridgeans headed to Cape Cod for a brief stay. We will be driving down Saturday morning and returning Sunday, probably before lunchtime. We will be staying in West Dennis (Barnacle Motel) on Saturday night. Here's what I planned for chow, based almost entirely upon what I read on this board--
Lunch-on-arrival: Fried somethings at Kream 'n Kone in Dennis Port.
Ice-Cream: Sundae School in Dennis Port.
We would like to see a cape league bb game Saturday, probably in South Yarmouth @ 5pm. Anyone know about tickets? I couldn't find anything on their website.
Dinner: I was going to go to the Impudent Oyster, because I have an acquaintance connection to a chef there, but it may interfere with baseball plans, because it seems that South Yarmouth is about 1-hour from Chatham, so that would be a lot of driving around
SY-chatham-Wdennis... Is it the I.O. worth working around? There is a 7pm game in Chatham, so we could go there for a late dinner, or an early one...
Any other dinner suggestions that would work with this itinery. Something casual, solid food, good value would be a bonus. We live in Cambridge, so we dine out and well often. I'm not headed to the cape for an amazing dining experience. I would love someplace where I can get good seafood or other cape delights.
Breakfast: I'd love to find a great place to have some breakfast. Can be anything from pastry & coffee to a sit-down pancake and eggs place. Prefer it to be reasonably close to our West dennis motel.
I used to spend all my school breaks with a PTown year-rounder, but I've never spent any time in the Dennis area.
Suggestions for any dunes also appreciated.
How far is no.truro from west dennis?
Did I pick a decent town to spend the night in?
