Bouley? Glad you asked Chowhounds.

We had a special dinner for 2 at Bouley (on W. Broadway) last week. AKA: the temple of haute French gastronomy.

Table location was great.
Service was great(*)
Wine selection and the steward's choices/expertise were great.
1st Course: trio of foie gras, shrimp and a petite salad -- incredible.
2nd Course: THE Lamb. -- Whoa! incredible.
Dessert: goopy and soupy blah(cannot even remember what the two disasters were). A MAJOR disappointment.
Coffee/tea: Yes, I'm still waiting for my tea. Where did it go? They sure must have forgotten me.

Overall, the meal, wines and surroundings were all outstanding. Chef must be killing himself to create such masterpieces. (*)Then it all fell off the cliff at the end. Go figure?
