I would like to thank the Spirit Chowhounds who have suggested this drink in past threads. I discovered the Negroni for the first time this summer but, with it being a decidedly Fall day, I took the leap and tried the Boulevardier this afternoon. What a perfect drink for the season - slightly smoky with the bourbon (Buffalo Trace), sweet from the vermouth (Vya), and a bitter finish from the Campari. Just wonderful.
I think it is safe to say I have found my drink for the dark evenings of Fall and Winter.
The recipe, for those who have missed it:
1.5 oz Bourbon
1.5 oz Sweet Vermouth
1.5 oz Campari
I served it on the rocks and finished it with a few drops of Angustora Orange bitters
