I picked up a ficelle (no baguettes left) at this boulangerie since I live a block away and needed something to go with my white wine-brie-sundried tomato-olive dinner. It looked so good, I couldn't wait, so I broke off the top as soon I stepped out the door.
Sad to say, I was disappointed. The bread was very, very chewy, bland, and not what I remember from my few trips to Paris. I would like a baguette that tastes great by itself. Any suggestions?
Also, kind of OT, but any suggestions for Cole Valley that I should not miss...Thanks!
