I found a No. 8, 10-5/8" cast-iron skillet at a thrift store today for $7. Couldn't resist. There's no brand name on it, but it does say "Made in USA" on the bottom along with the size. It has 2 tiny pour spouts, one on each side of the pan.
Anyway...I've never had one in my life...so please tell me what to do so that I season it correctly. I'm assuming the first thing I need to make in it is cornbread?
How will I know when it's seasoned correctly?
Thanks one and all..
