Bottarga/ Australian good?

I'm in Japan at the moment and want to bring home some bottarga. The ones I have found are either the product of Spain or Australia. The latter is cheaper (i.e. 2 roe sacks for ~USD20 vs. ~USD35). Anyone have any experience with the Australian version?

I'm pretty much going to take a flyer on the stuff, but thought I might as well ask.
