My husband and I will be in NYC Feb 1 - Feb 4. I've been researching restaurants for hours and am feeling overwhelmed by the possibilities. Due to my lack of focus, may we ask for advice? Here's what is scheduled so far --
Wednesday evening - ??? Want something good but low-key after driving in that afternoon. Casual dress. Thinking Spanish or Greek? Japanese works as long as there is a non-sushi option for one of us.
Thursday lunch -- Grand Central Oyster Bar. Going there for sentimental reasons only. Will sit at bar and eat several dozen oysters along with a bottle of Sancerre.
Thursday dinner -- Confirmed reservations at Daniel. Yea!
Friday lunch -- Someplace near the Tenement Musuem. Katz's? Anything else?
Friday dinner -- ??? Something really fun and lively; needs to be a counter-balance (both culinary and atmosphere) to the previous evening at Daniel. Would like to avoid Italian.
Saturday lunch -- ??? Probably dim sum but maybe something near MoMA.
Sorry to be so vague. We're staying at the Inn at Irving Place and prefer to not travel too far afield. Cost doesn't matter, just great food and atmosphere. Trying to balance the complexity of the meals so that we don't leave feeling like stuffed pigs. Thanks in advance for any advice.
