My girlfriend and I are coming up to Boston from Providence this weekend and I might have an impossible task: I'd like to introduce her to the Dim Sum concept, but we both keep some Kosher restrictions and she's quasi vegetarian :-).
She's not idiologically a full vegetarian (she'll rarely eat fish and chicken), but she definitely in general prefers vege options/cuisine. We also both keep to many Kosher rules as well (so no shellfish or pork), although we're both willing to relax this when eating out (we won't ask what is in various sauces, etc, although we avoid dishes with those things clearly as frank ingredients).
For me, the Kosher part hasn't been a problem in the past. I just would go with vege or chicken/beef options in dim sum, but this could be tougher for her.
Reading the archive, it would appear that Chau Chow City and the Buddist Center on Mass Ave might be the best bets for vege friendly Dim Sum. I had hoped to do the full carts experience, so I was leaning towards the former. I don't want to risk turning her off, though, so she'll never do it again.
Any other suggestions?
