There was an excellent 4-part article in the Travel section of the Sunday Globe. 4 writers reported on cooking school adventures in Sicily, Spain, Ireland, and Southeast Asia (incuding Indian, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand).
I tried to find this on-line and provide a link, but the only thing that the Globe offers is the first article, and then it doesn't have the sidebar which accompanies each article, which lists the schools, web sites, telephone numbers, booking agencies. So the URL below does give you the body of the Italy article, but nothing else.
I'll list a couple of sites here, but if you're interested in these schools and want the entire set of sidebars, (with some phone#'s and prices) email me and I'll see what I can do.
The Sicilan school was Ravida Azienda Agricola Srl, at www.ravida.it
In Spain, several places were listed including the Catacurian (www.catacurian.com), www.atasteofspain.com, and www.cookandtaste.net
Ireland: www.irishcookeryschool.com, www.ballyknocken.com, www.juniorchef.ie
India: Goa - www.holidayonthemenu.com
Thai: www.baipai.com, www.blueelephant.com
OK - so the real question is how do you get to be a writer and go to all these schools and get paid for it?
