The Boston Seafood Show is advertised as the Largest in the World. I have been several times
. this Wednesday being the last. I can tell you it is really "BIG". It is supposed to be for "The Trade Only" but a little creative career description and the price of admission will get you in. There are over 1000 exhibitor representing equipment, packaging, shipping, and most importantly food products to the Seafood industry. You can sample clams, shrimp, scallops, mussels, crabs, salmon, catfish etc. etc.. I always look forward to the "fresh" New Zealand mussels. Unfortunately they were not available this year and I had to settle for frozen.
Jasper White was doing a cooking demo with large "heads on" shrimp. He feels these will begin to replace the "heads removed" Varity which are the norm in this area. Cooking with the head and shell on produce a more flavorful result and also enhance the making of any accompany sauce. They also look very nice when presented on the plate. I am sure we can look forward to these type of shrimp at his new restaurant which he said will be open in about ten weeks.
If you feel like a seafood extravaganza .. catch them next year at the beginning of March. They are in town for three days.
