New Boston Market In River Forest?

jdherbert | Mar 20, 2006 09:26 AM

If this is not just a local phenomenon, I'll move this to General topics...

I had an errand to run in River Forest on Friday and walked past a Boston Market unlike any i had ever seen before.

It was very modern looking, kind of "upscale" as these things go, and inside, there was a separate coffe counter, small almost bistro style tables and a lot of tile, chrome and glass.

The main counter was the most interesting, though- grilled vegetables, rice pilafs, interesting grain salads, all displayed on platters under glass like a prepared foods section at a good grocery store. there were pork and beef dishes, too, not just the chicken.

The staff were very courteous and all in chefs' jackets.

I know Chipotle is trying to spiff-up their image and raise the bar on the quality of their ingredients- For those of you who didn't know Chipotle and Boston Market are both owned by McDonald's- is Boston Market changing, too?

I was on the North Shore and in some of the more exclusive neighborhoods in Chicago this weekend and did not see another one like it... anybody try it yet?
