Well, here I am another Boston Hound relocating to Philly and the movers are dropping off all of our earthly possessions on Thursday or Friday to the Fitler square pad.
We need some pizza when we land. Indeed, I feel it might technically be required to eat pizza when you move. Not being ones to stand in the way of tradition, we too shall consume pizza.
I did some research and it seems that among the best pizza in your fair town is Taccanelli & Top Tomato. I got the impression Tacconellli's is more a sit down place that perhaps does not deliver. Top Tomato says they deliver. We'll probably shoot for delivery as we'll be pooped. Is this a good choice? Is there something else in the new neighborhood I should shoot for? Also, the pre-ordering of dough at Tacconelli's might be a bit much in case our plans get mucked up. I read that Tacconellis is more of a knife & fork kind of pizza place, and as all of our knives & forks might be on a truck somewhere on the Triborough Bridge, Im currently leaning towards Top Tomato.
Oh yeah, and what should I order? I find a margherita is often a good litmus test for a pizza place, but perhaps I should go with something else? A straight cheese maybe? I read that Top Tomatos excels at the tomato pie & that Tacconellis excels at the white pizza. While that information is valuable, bear in mind that Mrs. Joypirate absolutely demands that her pizza has tomatoes AND cheese.
Thanks in advance Philly. I look forward to eating myself into a coma.
PS, who the crap puts the tomato sauce ON TOP of the cheese?
