Boston hound looking for special dinner in or around Madeira beach

Buttercup | Feb 4, 200501:33 PM

We will be vacationing with my parents in late Feb., staying in Madeira beach. We would like to send them out to a wonderful dinner while we're there. We're flexible about price (could go up to $150 or even $200 for something extraordinary). What's most important is that they have a great experience.

They have adventurous eaters but have a couple of restrictions:

* my father is on a gluten-free diet (no wheat, rye or barley), so he'd need to have a choice of entrees that were not breaded, not pasta, etc. Sandwiches are out too, obviously. Rice, potatoes, corn all fine.

* my mother does not eat pork or shellfish and does not mix milk with meat.

The place doesn't need to be super fancy, just wonderful food, nice atmosphere, good service. "Ethnic" is fine, as is driving up to 20-30 minutes from Madeira Beach.

I searched this board but found mostly casual places. What is really special?
