Boston Hound coming to Vancouver: HELP!

Lgalen | May 19, 2017 02:17 PM

We'll be in Vancouver for 4 or 5 days. We want to try the best of the local stuff. Fancy food is not our style, although we'll try to do a brunch at the Teahouse in Stanley Park. What types of food should we be looking for? What seafood should we try that might be different from our New England coast's? Although we can get all types of Asian food in Boston, my guess is that Vancouver has a much larger, and more established community than ours. So what should two adventurous hounds search out?

Also, we haven't made hotel/AirB&B arrangements yet. We won't have a car, but want to be able to get around without having to walk more than half a mile or so. Is Uber/Lyftt available in Vancouver? Should we be looking in Yaletown, or somewhere near the downtown area? Is Kitsalano a pretty accessible neighborhood? Any other places we should look? Being near restaurants and shops is high priority.

Thanks in advance!
