I'll be up in Boston in a couple weeks doing some eating and one of my companions has demanded I find out why hot dogs in Boston are on that split whitebread roll instead a regular hot dog roll.
I googled 'til I was sore, so I knew there was only one place left to turn: chowhound.
If anyone reading this is an amateur hot dog historian or knows a resource who might have info about the history of the hot dog in Boston, I'd be much obliged.
And, if there's a best brand or locale for Boston hot dogs, I'd love to hear about them, too.
Thanks very much,
