Hit Sweet n' Tart for dim sum, Mei Lei Wah for char siu bao, and the Kew Restaurant for dinner.
Sweet n' Tart's dim sum menu seems to have changed from last year and was a bit disappointing because of that. We missed the old mango tart, fried dough stuffed w/ minced shrimp, and watercress/shrimp dumplings. The asparagus/shrimp dumplings were good though. Shu mai were excellent. Seafood chow mein was cooked well w/ huge shrimp and scallops.
Mei Lei Wah's char siu bao was also a bit of a disappointment. They were smaller than usual, had too little filling, and the filling was fattier than it should have been. The sweet deep fried dough they had was excellent though. Some folks on this forum mentioned it had the best :-P
Nothing unique at Kew; the menu consisted of the typical stuff at cantonese restaurants. The shrimp/scallops were huge in the seafood hotpot. The sizzling beef was very tender and big. They also only took cash as did a few other restaurants (Oriental Garden only took amex, and Hop Kee only took cash).
Hope I can find some more interesting restaurants when we wander back to see the US Open this year, assuming Agassi decides to reture this year...
