Bo's barbeque, Lafayette

Heard mixed things about this place from 'hounds and otherwise. Finally made it out there when my dad was in town last week from Houston.

The food was overpriced (for barbeque), but very good. The brisket was very tender, good smoke ring, good spice on the rub. Ribs also very good, tender, juicy. It is nice they offer the option of which end of the rib you want. The links were just okay. Serving size was just fine. The half of baked sweet potato was great for me (I assume most people would find this weird).

The potato salad was alright, I guess. Pretty mustardy, which is bad in my book.

But what is with being so skimpy on the sauce? I'm glad the meat isn't drowning in sauce, but to give so little and then charge for more?

Anyway, the fabulous beer selection means I'll be going back before too long.
Is this place inconsistent? Is that the reason for some poor reviews?
