Has anyone been to Borrelli's in East Meadow?

I think that since I was born and raised on Long Island, and not all that far from Borrelli's, it's a shame I haven't ever been.

I'll contribute it to the many "must avoid" and "Eww, don't go there" comments I received for all my years about Borrelli's. But, the place is still around after so long and renovated a short time ago as well.

The reviews on other websites are difficult to read. From one star reviews to five star reviews with little in between. It's either love or hate.

That's why we have Chowhounds with good food sense to help each other in such instances. What do Chowhounds that have dined here think? Is this place OK? Can it do for a weeknight meal of chicken francese or marsala?

Thanks!
