Book Club dinner: pubby, private, cozy, budget...ideas welcome!

Lisa Bee | Nov 4, 200512:56 PM

We just read "Mr. Norrell and Jonathan Strange" (which I recommend for anyone who likes their books intelligent, lengthy and fantastical), and it's my turn to pick a dinner venue. Some considerations for our Monday night party of five: Hollywood to West LA, something booth-y and/or private, $30 or less, corkage/BYOW-friendly a plus and if there was an air of mystery about the place that might trump all other concerns!

An English pub would be great. The Arsenal is probably too trendy and I've no idea if the food is any good at Tom Bergin's; therein lies the extent of my eating-at-pub knowledge in LA.

Thanks, 'Hounds! I promise a write-up of any eventual destination(s).
