Bonomo's Turkish Taffy

Lynn | Oct 26, 1999 03:49 PM

Are there any other chowhounds out there, of a "certain age," like me, who remember and desperately miss Bonomo's Turkish Taffy? It died an unnatural death some years ago, when the company was sold and the new one dropped the product.(I THINK that's what happened.)

It was a beautifully, creamy taffy bar (vanilla, chocolate or strawberry--but the original launch, vanilla, was definitely the flagship of the line). I believe I last saw it around in the 60's.

In the past year, the NY TImes (I think,) mentioned it as a candy that baby boomers can only pine for--but can't get. Unfortunately, I lost the article, which mentioned what company had most recently owned it.

My friends and I would love to get in touch with this organization and beg for the taffy's revival. We are all anxious to destroy any remaining teeth that Bonomo's left us with.
