I tried this place out this past weekend with their "special weekend lunch buffet." I figured I'd give them a try since they had a great review in the washington post weekend section. I first called to make sure what the end time was (3:30), since I was starting out late. While on the phone, I even asked to make sure they had butter chicken on the buffet, which they said yes.
Once I got there, I was initially disappointed by the layout. They had a few chafing dishes with a few select items, including the typical chicken curry, basmati rice, tasty veggie fritters, veggie curry dish, soggy and limp tandoori chicken, and limp salad. They didn't have any spinach or chick pea type of dish. To my great disappointment, butter chicken was nowhere to be found. Also, they keep the nan in the back and serve it to each table as they wish (as opposed to like Delhi Dhaba that has everything out there for you, including butter chicken).
The indian style chafing dishes didn't strike me as mediums that kept the food hot. Overall, the food was so so, and the extra $2 that they charge for the weekend "special buffet" makes me realize that the regular weekday buffet ($7.99) is probably not worth a try.
