Bombay Bistro - What is the Appeal?

Jeff C | Mar 11, 2005 10:31 AM

I have eaten at probably 25 or so Indian restaurants in the DC area. Probably another 25 or so all over the US and in the UK. I have tried Bombay Bistro (both locations) on multiple occasions for both lunch and dinner. The service and atompshere are fine but the food has never once been good. In fact on my last visit it was downright horrid.

Why is this place continually raved about, both on this board and elsewhere? What is the appeal? What am I missing?

Also let this serve as a warning to anyone who might be thinking of trying it. Connhaught Place and Jaipur are my regular Indian haunts and far superior IMO. Both are in Fairfax City as is one of the Bombay Bistro locations.
