Anyone curious about the many Bolivian places popping up all over Northern Virginia probably can't do better than El Pike at Arlington Blvd. and Patrick Henry. On weekends, they have a big list of special platters. My family and I sat down, asked the waiter what we should get ("Pamacu") and he brought us an enormous platter with very earthy chicken, duck, hominy, potatoes, plantains, chopped tomatoes and onions. Rich and delicious. The plantains were served whole, the skin all black and crackling. I'm not sure if you're supposed to eat the skin; I did, and it was amazing. A cinnamon peach drink rounded out the meal for me. Music starts up 2/2:30pm on a Saturday afternoon, just in case you can't get up too quickly from your meal.
