Boba smoothie @ Surf City Squeeze, Santa Rosa

Melanie Wong | Aug 21, 200412:07 AM

Ages ago, Cynthia had mentioned that boba tea had come to Santa Rosa. More precisely, to Santa Rosa Plaza shopping center.

This afternoon, I got off the hiway for a bit in need of a cold drink and headed in search of the boba place. I was surprised to find that it was a franchise of an Arizona juice bar and not a Taiwanese tea cafe. Boba teas were indeed part of the posted menu offerings...shows that this Taiwanese invention has gone mainstream.

I had the mango-pineapple smoothie with boba added. Just what I needed to cool down. The boba were decent, a few were softer than I prefer, but overall, better than I expected. Guess I need to change my expectations around here.
