I finally got the chance to check this place out tonight. I got the shrimp sandwich with lemon garlic butter marinade + avocado (recommended by the girl at the register). Very fresh and tasty. The only problem was the size, which literally seemed like it was meant for kids. I was still hungry, so I ordered a cup of cioppino. Again it was fresh and tasty, although calling it cioppino is stretching it; it was lacking the pepper and the melding of flavors achieved through slow cooking. But it was still good.
One thing I really like about this place is that they have 5 Ballast Point beers on tap. Very nice. They claim the plastic cup they serve it in is a pint, but it didn't seem like a pint to me(can someone who has been verify or refute this?).
This place reminds me of the restaurants I grew with in Santa Cruz. Very casual, very fresh. This is the first place I've found in SD that has this feel. It seems to have a few kinks, but I give it a thumbs up.
