Blue Star Cooktop--anybody have an opinion?

johnb | Jan 30, 200608:39 AM     4

I am in the process of selecting a cooktop for my new house. The best one I've found appears to be the Blue Star, with its 22k btu burners. Does anyone have one of these?, and do you have any opinions about it to share?, particularly any downside. Any other brands that ought to be on the short list? I've heard of Jade, but don't know much about it. I want a "slide-in", not a drop-in, because I want the knobs in front and below, out of the way of grease spatters.

I have a DCS now and mostly love it, but don't want sealed burners any more. It (their slide-in version) would probably be my first choice if the Blue Star didn't exist, but for me it does suffer from the sealed burners.

Thoughts?
