Blue Sky Bakery (5th Ave btwn Bergen and St. Marks/Park Slope) opened today. When I stopped in they had choc. chip and oatmeal cookies, some kind of apple pastry, muffins and some other items, all of which looked quite good. The woman working there said they would be adding items each day--croissants and so forth--which they need to do b/c the selection is a bit scarce at this point. The space is very nice. It feels like you're standing in a country kitchen. I got a bran muffin, which was nothing special, but that could be attributed to my choice more than the muffin itself. Apparently, the hold-up with its opening was due to getting gas and other things squared away.
